Murray built our cat enclosure at the front, side of our house so
that the indoor cats can go outside in safety and have fun.
The enclosure features
a large fish pond with water fountain and a huge waterfall made from
local stone. Inside the waterfall is a cave for kitty litter and
playing. There are tunnels built out of the rocks that run under the
waterfall where our cats and kittens like to ambush each other. The
waterfall is built on a gentle slope so that the cats can play on top of
it. A large bridge goes over the pond so that we can get to the other
side and sit on a bench to watch them play Spiral staircase and painted
slabs of wood make good for overhead shelves as well as logs and a
swinging bridge over the pond. The area has paving and potted plants of
mainly fig and palms giving it a tropical feel.
The area is approximately
10 metres by 5 metres with a grey Polycarbonate sheeted roof to let
filtered sunlight in. The sides are clad with galvanized square mesh.
There are safety double doors for us to enter but the cats enter by way of
a cat flap in the lounge room window. This takes them down a short tunnel
to the enclosure.
Our tranquil outdoor 'oasis' is a great place to sit and spend time with
our cats and kittens. Even on rainy days!

Kittens Playing

We have recently extended the fish pond area for us, as well as the cats and kittens.
None in sight though when the photos below were taken - all fast asleep indoors!
